CGD64 Power Rangers Villains Meme

Description

The main element I enjoy with Power Rangers is the villains/monsters and when I saw this meme I just had to do my own take on it, here is my favorite villains (I narrowed it down to the main villains of the show, the higher-ranking villains, none of the monsters or footsoldiers) and I should add it's mostly done in no particular order.

1. Mesogog (Dino Thunder): One of my favorites because he is a dinosaur and I love dinosaurs, he also has a very fascinating motivation to conquering the world: to restore saurian life to the Earth which is really neat. He also has an interesting personality, he's literally cold-blooded and calculating, very much unlike most of the villains in the show.

2. Rita and Zedd's clan (Rita Repulsa, Lord Zedd, Goldar, Rito Revolto, Squat, Baboo, Finster and Master Vile): To most fans of Power Rangers these were the first villains we have come to know. Rita and Zedd are wonderful as a couple, very comedic and fun to watch. Goldar is also one of those villains that you can take seriously sometimes and feel threatened but has his comedic moments, the same can be said of Rito whom he gets paired up with. Squat and Baboo are kind of lame but still kind of fun to watch. Finster is very loveable, it's a wonder why he is part of this gang of evil villains, he just seems to polite and friendly, I guess it's because he's loyal to Rita. Master Vile is also a great character, a crotchety old man wizard that's both powerful/threatening and comedic.

3. Venjix (RPM): The Power Rangers equivalent to Skynet, VIKI, HAL 9000 etc...Venjix I find is similar to Mesogog, except that it has some personality, it gets angry and agressive. It's motivation is also interesting, a programming/machine that is trying to survive.

4. Venjix's Generals: Tenaya 7, Shifter and Crunch (RPM): Tenaya is a great villainous, she is often compared to Astronema because of her backstory and personal relationship with one of the Rangers. I also enjoy her relationship with her fellow generals. Shifter is competitive with Tenaya as he wants to gain Venjix's favor, Crunch is the comedic relief and is usually dumb but can actually be smart at times and is a skilled fighter. The three of them together are some of my favorite scenes because of the sarcastic banter that goes on between them.

5. Diabolico and Olympius (Light Speed Rescue): Diabolico was a pretty creepy villain, his appearance and name are based on the Devil (Diablo), but at the same time he was admirable that he tried to do things honorably a lot of the time. Olympius I really liked because he was a dragon and sort of a younger version of Diabolico, except he was willing to use underhanded methods to gain the advantage. The two of them were evenly matched in power and their rivalry was also well-liked.

6. The Ten Terrors (Mystic Force): A Pantheon of Ten Powerful Monsters that served the Master of the Underworld. Each one had their own unique personality and appearance so there was something for everyone here. My two favorites in the group were Mega Horn and Black Lance, partially because they were the most powerful of the terrors and that they represent two of my favorite fantasy tropes: the Knight and the Dragon. Sculpin was another one I really liked, I liked Hekatoid because he was the comedic influence of the group, Magma had a really neat design and Matoombo (had a stupid name) was likable because he didn't believe in senseless violence.

7. Titanisaur (Lost Galaxy): There isn't much to say about Titanisaur, I mainly liked him because he was a giant Godzilla-like monster that the Rangers fought and I love Godzilla.

8. Flurious and Moltor (Operation Overdrive): Flurious reminded me of Lothor in that he was a serious villain but had a sense of humor, Moltor was really neat because he was a fire-elemental dragon and his design is based on the Mighty Morphin Megazord. The two of them had an interesting relationship because they were brothers but were rivals and the opposite of each other in every way leading to some great dialogue between them.

9. Master Xandred (Samurai/Super Samurai): I loved this guy, to me he was the scariest Power Ranger villain besides Queen Bansheera. When I saw this guy he reminded me of the devil. He was an angry, vicious, powerful villain that you knew was a force to be reckoned with and if he returned it would spell the end of the world, which is why both groups were desperate to defeat the other. Xandred also had one of the best final battles and an epic death.

10. The Phantom Beast Generals (Jungle Fury): There isn't much to say about these guys, I like their design and that their appearance and fighting style are based on animals from the Chinese Zodiac as well as the four Legendary Beasts and live in the four compass directions which I find fascinating.

Honorable Mentions: There were some more villains I wish I could have added to the collage: Darkonda, Ecliptor (n Space) and Emperor Gruumm (SPD).
